What new history series (documentary) should the BBC make?

Been done - Robert Kee's 'Ireland: A Television History'. That was quite some time ago, though.

Docs on Irish history on Irish telly seem to be monopolised by a revisionist clique, alas.

wouldn't mind seeing the Robert Kee stuff, have read some of his books, but a new series would be good to see, as long as it was well researched and balanced  yes I know that's unlikely

Proper history of pre-Columbus America
A history of Indonesia (massively important state globally and hardly anyone in the UK knows anything about it) - lots of boat fodder too
Snap on a history of languages worldwide
History of the Etruscans - antiquity's coolest party animal culture
Cracking series on the Enlightenment across all fields of art, philosophy and science - sadly needed in today's climate of religious resurgence.

Pre-Yugoslavia and Yugoslavia.

Africa.

I'd quite like a more detailed version of that Millennium series following what was happening where along a timeline.

Isn't it strange how you see so few history programmes about British colonialism?

Lots about the second world war though :hmm:
