What mass drink should I make for my party?

This is for Herbsman's party right? Call it hunch, but he isn't going to want Pimms as the centerpiece. It's an alcohol light drink for the Camillas and Nigels of the world in the main. He's more of a rum punch man at heart

We'll be advising him to put doileys on his sofa arms and to max out the credit card down Laura Ashley next.

I made spiced cider recently, you don't need to boil it and and a fair bit of dark rum added to the brew made sure it worked, also you can use pretty unpalatable cider as all the fruit and sugar gives it niceness
 
Well, I am now drinking Pimms brandy cup and apple juice heated up for the first time in about 4 years and it is completely gorgeous. Very warming. If someone gave it to me at a party I would be very pleased and not think that they were posh, just had good taste in winter drinks. The only thing is it might be a hassle to keep it warm as people drift into the party. Don't think it would be good tepid.

Going to put the rest of it away til December/a cold/horrible day as it is that sort of drink. It's either Christmassy, or suitable for when you have just come in and are are really cold and wet and miserable.
It feels wrong drinking it on a mild-ish Monday night.

One shot of spirit ( 25% alcohol by volume), halfway through the glass and I can already feel a buzz. Does heating drinks make you get pissed faster
(assuming you don't boil the alcohol off?)
 
Don't go for the pimms winter option.

It's basically an alcoholic ribena which tastes rank and will stick to your guests and furniture like glue.

Why not just have a big bowl of vodka?

I agree that summer gin Pimms can be quite rank but this is different. It is brandy-based and spicy.

Anyway, what about vodka, pomegranate juice, ginger beer ( the kick-ass Jamaican stuff not Canada dry crap) , slug of brandy or dark fudgey rum and sliced blood oranges floating in it?
 
Or why can't you just make rum punch but with dark rum and ginger in it?

Hot drinks are a hassle at parties.

Anyway, it's in November isn't it? This party? So you can have any old thing, it doesn't have to be festive.

How about a Bullshot:


4 shots of vodka, or more if you wish
250ml canned beef consommé (soup will need diluting if concentrated)
4-5 drops of Tabasco sauce to taste
2tbsp Worcestershire sauce
The juice of 1 lime
1tsp celery salt
A few turns of black pepper
