What kind of a thinker are you?

Im the renaissance ideal: master of all branches of knowledge....

yeah right - more like jack of all trades master of none

- it doesnt tell you what job to go for - which is why i still haven't found a career i guess!

(ps Fifi - never too old!)

* Try to understand the world in terms of causes and effects
* Are good at thinking critically, and solving problems creatively

Physicist, Chemist, Biologist, Lawyer, Computer programmer, Engineer, Inventor

Yeah, pretty fair, but i could have told you that without taking a test ;)

I have just shown my wife the analysis, her concise comment:- "bollocks" :D
She's an interpersonal thinker too? :D

*PMs tobyjug with huge long list of personal issues for advice and guidance from tj and wife*

You are a linguistic thinker

Linguistic thinkers:
Tend to think in words, and like to use language to express complex ideas.
Are sensitive to the sounds and rhythms of words as well as their meanings.

Like linguistic thinkers, Leonardo made meticulous descriptions in his journals. He also made an effort to learn Latin - a foreign language Other Linguistic Thinkers include
William Shakespeare, Sylvia Plath, Anne Frank

Careers which suit Linguistic thinkers include
Journalist, Librarian, Salesperson, Proof-reader, Translator, Poet, Lyricist

I tend to be a political and moral thinker. The problems that concern me philosophically are those about how men should live, what ethical codes they should abide by and what the nature of society should be.

I don't tend to think about the size of the universe, the nature of space like some of those scientifically-minded philosophers. It is interestin to ponder these sorts of things and it satisfies man's capacity for abstract thought, but in truth can serve no useful purpose especially when there are far more pressing issues to be resolved on this planet alone.

I was also influenced in some way by Wittgenstein's idea that much philosophy is simply a language game. Questions like "how do you make matter out of non-matter?" is grammatically coherent, but in truth it is nonsense for which there is no answer.

What a surprise...

Interpersonal thinkers:
Like to think about other people, and try to understand them
Recognise differences between individuals and appreciate that different people have different perspectives
Make an effort to cultivate effective relationships with family, friends and colleagues

Aparently, I'm two different types of thinker; a Logical-Mathematical Thinker and an an Existential Thinker. Which is about right.

You are an Intrapersonal thinker

Intrapersonal thinkers:

* Spend a lot of time thinking about and trying to understand themselves
* Reflect on their thoughts and moods, and work to improve them
* You understand how your behaviour affects your relationships with others

Like intrapersonal thinkers, Leonardo worked hard to improve all aspects of himself.
Other Intrapersonal thinkers include
Sigmund Freud, Gandhi, Grahame Greene

Careers which suit Intrapersonal Thinkers include
Psychologist, Teacher, Pilot, Child care worker, Explorer, Drama therapist

You are an Interpersonal Thinker
Interpersonal thinkers:
Like to think about other people, and try to understand them
Recognise differences between individuals and appreciate that different people have different perspectives
Make an effort to cultivate effective relationships with family, friends and colleagues

Like interpersonal thinkers, Leonardo had lots of friends and contacts, and was a popular figure at the Italian court. Other Interpersonal thinkers include
Winston Churchill, Mother Teresa, William Shakespeare

Careers which suit Interpersonal thinkers include
Politician, Psychologist, Nurse, Counsellor, Teacher

-----------------------------------------

balls to all that :D

hate politicians, hate blood, no patience or impartiality for counselling no patience for teaching..... :D

Naturalist Thinkers:

Like to understand the natural world, and the living beings that inhabit it
have an aptitude for communicating with animals
You try to understand patterns of life and natural forces

Like other Naturalist thinkers, Leonardo longed to spend time in the countryside. He spent hours watching birds to understand how they flew. Other Naturalist thinkers include
Charles Darwin, Jane Goodall, Johnny Morris, David Attenborough

Careers which suit Naturalist thinkers include
Biologist, Meteorologist, Forester, Farmer, Astronomer, Alternative therapist

I came out as in interpersonal thinker, but I'd say I'm more of a Naturalist, mixed with Logical-Mathematical... So, the test stinks! ;)

Yes, it's a crap test.

I was expecting to come out as a visual/creative thinker. However, I do spend an inordinate amount of time in the woods with a sketchbook.

these tests are just crap for people who love to be analysed and told who are they are.
All the better if it matches up with who you want to be so you can now officially describe yourself as 'creative'.
i came out as a musical thinker because i happen to play instruments, so it added some weight to my answers. Dont mean i see things in rhythmical patterns and all that shit, and sure as hell don't mean i think like mozart or john lennon.

thats what i think anyway.

it is a bollocks test! i agree..
i hate psychology, psychologists and everything psychological!
if i could kill my dissertation i would! i hate it, hate it, hate it!

i sort of hope this feeling passes though.
failing that i will become a pilot.
