I attended 2 seminars by Ted Wong, Bruce's last pupil (with him when he died), he said it was the pain killers combined with the shit loads of steroids and other performance enhancers he took.

that seems to be the most plausible explanation, but i thought he was round an actresses house and it was just her and the paramedics who saw him die

That giant monster samurai demon thing from enter the dragon:Bruce Lee story had a bigger nastier couisin...........

That is total slander.

To clarify, I wrote that badly. Bruce usually only had one pupil at a time and Ted was his last one. I ment it in the sense that Ted was very close to Bruce and new everything he was doing, not that he was there at the actual moment of death. Straight from the horses mouth and slander free.

chinese burn... ouch !!!

I heard something about him having his sweat glands removed.

I heard that about Edward Heath....it was a rumour that was rife in the 1970s....I think Private Eye started it.

He did take a drug that stripped the fat from his and another one that increased the blood pressure to his muscles to make them very hard. He wanted to turn his muscles into a type of armour, Ted said it was like hitting stone, there was no give in his flesh when it was hit.

Steroids... Damn! All the baseball players, and now Bruce.
I'm runnin outta role models here! This claim does have pretty big implications
considering Bruce advocated methods of natural self-channeling.
Maybe that was Chi-juice he was takin.

Did he? He was big into eastern philosophy but his goal in life was to become the best fighter ever and drugs didnt have the unnatural stigmatism then as they do now.

As a role model he is still worhty of praise, he is still the best martial artist that ever was, pushed massive boundaries for physical training and technique that no one has remotely came close too since, and revolutionised chinese martial arts by teaching them to foreigners and doing away with respect for tradition.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_lee has a section on his death.

I particularly enjoy the legend suggesting that he faked his own death, and will return when he has perfected his martial arts. :)

* Bruce Lee's striking speed from 60cm (24 inches) away was five hundredths of a second. (Glover[12])
* Bruce did one-hand push ups using only 2 fingers.
* Bruce was able to break a 70 kg (154 lbs) bag with a sidekick. (Coburn[12])
* Bruce's famous "One Inch Punch" was able to knock back and off balance a 200lb man into a chair, using only 1 inch of striking distance. The target stands with their feet squared and is unable to turn to a sideways stance because of the chair being in the way, thus being knocked off balance.
* Bruce was able to hold a 57 kg (125 lb) barbell at arms length in front of him (with elbows locked) for several seconds. (Little[15])
* It was reported that Bruce Lee had one of the lowest ever recorded pulse rates per minute in human history, illustrating his extreme physical conditioning. An average resting pulse rate per minute is between 64 and 72, and an athletes pulse rate is between 40 and 60. At his peak, Bruce Lee's was 18.

Its like the Chuck Norris Facts page but all these are real!!:D

Jesse Glover is a nice guy too, he taught me sticking hands and the techniques Bruce actually used in real fights ;)
