Get the metal hot n ready slap a few slices of aubergine about in olive oil and sling onto the grate, while that's sizzlin away skin up and have a glass of wine then crush some garlic up mix with chilli powder peanut oil and a tad of ginger smear it all over half corgettes and sling them in the flames too.
Go and put a Cd in the player, have a slug of wine and a few tokes of the bifter and slice up some pieces of french stick, douse them in olive oli and celery salt and wack the fuckers under the grill for two minutes on full blast.
Quickly slice some tomatoes up (not those giant tasteless beefstake things) tare up some salad leaves chop a little cucumber and mix it all up chucking some sesame and sunflower seeds in.

meat or veggie burgers and sausages, so long as there's tons of fried onions to go with them.

mmmmmm fried onions mmmmmm

Meat, meat, meat, meat, meat!

A nice med salad, coleslaw, potatoe salad, quality crisps and the like are good on the side but a BBQ is all about juicy burgers, big thick sausages, marinaded chicken wings and succulent steaks!

The term 'vegetarian BBQ' seems a bit of an oxymoron to me.

I am cooking barbq for work collegues and clients today.

I will be cooking all sorts but will be eating..

Chicken kebabs, breast meat marinated in a lemon and thyme sauce.

Lamb kebabs, neck fillet marinated in a home made peri peri type sauce.

lamb chops, marinated in garlic and rosemary.

After we will have melon then go to the pub and get drunk.:)

Please vote honestly, and not just to appear cool and groovy and right on.

Meat, as long as it's organic and fully traceable. I prefer it I know the cow has been gently massaged each morning during its life: that gives the best flavour, I find.

Polenta makes a delightful addition to any barbeque. And I simply must have balsamic on my bangers.

the last BBQ i went to was my mate's house in Spain.
We had Chorizo, ribs, prawns, a massive salad, and crusty bread.

I especially enjoyed the ribs.

But the salad is essential.

Burgers/sausages/chicken/salad/coleslaw.

yummy yummy!

Has anyone seen that advert from the food standards agency where those sausages are on the griddle and they're not cooked thoroughly and the song "when will I see u again" playing?

Makes me giggle

*ahem* Hollis... :D :p :D

I voted meat but I like those veggie kebabs with pepper and haloumi and mushrooms - it's great cos you can eat the veggie food but they can't eat yours

If the food is good then I eat it. I might muse, whilst digesting, about what poor beast or innocent vegetable died for my pleasure - but it's strictly an afterthought.

My favorite BBQ recipe:

Pull out a long sheet of tin foil. Put sliced potato and onion in the middle of sheet. Add peppers, garlic and cheese. Fold up and place on the grill.
