I think it was the late and much-missed George Harrison who said that the best way to enjoy a Spice Girls video was with the mute button on. Seeing as he was a member of arguably the greatest mainstream pop act in the world, ever, I have to concur with him on this subject.
And anyone even attempting to compare the Spice Girls with The Beatles will be dragged through Urbanland on a wattle hurdle and summarily burned, so be warned.

I was living abroad when they broke out and came home for a weekend. Found a 'Wannabe' CD belonging to my brother's gf and thought 'Hmm what's this?' then played it about 14 million times in a day. I thought it was accidentally fucking brilliant, and this was when I was living in a tent with dreads and listening to The World Service and non-stop techno 24/7. It was proper amazing pop music and we have them to thank for Girls Aloud
