i think you can still get them, but aren't you supposed to just throw the walnut away?Walnuts are only good on top of whips. Do they still do those?
For pedantic reasons. Why aren't the above nuts? They taste and look like nuts.
Botanically, a nut is an indehiscent (not opening at maturity) dry fruit with one seed and a thick, hard pericarp (the shell). A true nut also has a cup at its base (Stern, 1991). Another definition of nut is a dry indehiscent fruit that develops from a compound gynoecium (a compound pistil) in which all but one ovule degenerates during development and the pericarp is hard at maturity
fuck it.
I knew I missed some - pine nuts and hicories.

And pecans, psycho!![]()

Isn't pecan a fruit?
Where's the "interesting" bloke from Surrey - he might know.![]()
Yes. I believe it is a drupe (is that how you spell it?)

All true nuts are fruit (and seeds at the same time) but a lot of things we call nuts are just seeds.Technically, all nuts are fruits. Fruit is a broad church.
Amusingly, however, many things we call fruits actually aren't. Like strawberries. Oh, how I laugh.
