What is the vilest bicycle. Ever. ?

WTF?

What kind of 'alloy'? Bike steel is an alloy (most likely chromium and molybdenum with yer iron and yer carbon)! Yer Focus bike is aluminium alloy surely!

It's 6061 aluminium alloy. Quoady alu is the one that gives you a sore arse after a long day in the saddle.

6000 series is alloyed with magnesium and silicon*... 6061 is a sort of all rounder, relatively easy to weld and pretty strong. It's harder to treat than 7000 though.

7000 series is alloyed with zinc* and can be made extremely hard. More difficult to weld than 6000 series, but stronger.

*And other stuff, but those are the main ones.

I'm going to seem a little Gok wan here,
Its a good looking bike with all the wrong accessories darling.

I am heartened :D

I think the next steps are taking off everything, putting back the suspension fork, and eBaying it :)

The water bottle claims to have a 'chill jacket' - i.e. a thermal insulation layer with a godawful colour. It doesn't work at all, but reduces the water bottle's capacity and adds that ohsolovely tone! The rest is... just... arguably-misplaced-enthusiasm. Apart from the bike computer / speed sensor, which has been a VERY sensible buy :)

e2a: and, heck, I'm glad to've put on the aero bars! The whole front end might be ugly as fuck, but aero bars = +2-4mph on the flat with any kind of respectable headwind! And more on a downhill, I reckons! Even more when it was aero bars on a suspension fork :D

Do you not have a camelback? :hmm::confused:

Noooo. Put off by the cost. Which seems slightly ironic, having spunked >£700 on a bike I'll now be selling for substantially less :D

I am aware it might be a good idea, but for the love of god - no more ideas for spending plz! For at least a year :D

Get one. You won't regret it.

You can get a 2l one for £25, or there's a 3l one for £30... On a serious note it is important to make sure you keep yourself well hydrated on long rides, particularly if you're training.

A serious note about camelbacks.

The smallest version used to have a tube with a stiff liner allowing you to set the tube position so that it was easy to drink from.

Essentially your camel had an erection.
