What is the middle path?

By reading what you write:

What, and Buddhism, which is part philosophy, part religion isn't? At the end of the day all you're doing is following the ideas of a dilletante rich kid.

Well, your reading skills are not quite up to scratch then mate.

'The key' means the 'main' one, 'the key' does not mean the 'only' one.

Buddhism is not the thing to follow. No 'ism' is. That is a fundamental mistake for those looking for the answers to life. I said philosophy was blowing hot air coz it has never come up with the answers. And you won't get those answers from philosophy or organised religion.

And if i was following the ideas of a rich kid, or anyone in fact, then i'd be up the garden path and fucked. Following is the wrong way.

Incidentally, before you ask, the answers lie beyond language. And i'm sure you'll agree that philosophy totally depends on language. That is its weak point, hence in its final reckoning philosophy is just hot air.

I'm digging up this old thread because I wanted to explore what the "middle way" is, and in particular isn't.

Confrontation was one subject I wanted to discuss. Is always avoiding confrontation the "middle way"? I think that life does necessitate that we confront certain problems/people/situations and act or react accordingly - under which circumstances the middle way may not be the correct path to take and could be seen as simply to be taking the "easy way out".

Thoughts anyone?
