I forgot about going to see west ham play wimbledon.... my mate was a wimbledon fan and he was in their end. We had a bet going - pint a goal for after the match.

At half time we were 3-0 up. I was so tempted to ring him and start gloating but, luckily, I didn't....

cos they scored 4 in the second half.

and then I had to buy the smug bastard a pint.

I was there..

At half time 3 down I had to be talked out of sodding off home, glad I stayed..

that was a horrible second half. When you got back to 3-2 you could feel that the whole ground knew you were going to win. It was inevitable.

Nah, we have had far too many cup exits to crapper teams for that one to rank very high

Also that season I had the misfortune to be at our home game with Swansea... in the swansea end (with a swans fan mate). We conceded in the first half and were complete pap for most of the game until a late late equaliser. To make things worse the swans fans were all going nuts all around me all through the game, as well as singing various anti-england songs...

One would happen to be getting beaten on penalties by Shrewsbury in the conference play-off final, having 3 chances to win it.

Another would be a personal failure, throwing the discus 25-odd metres in the district athletics championship, holding my lead until the last throw.

For me has to be defeat to an up and coming Barnet in the FA cup early 90's on a cold evening at the old county ground, Northampton. They were in the conference at the time and had fat Bazza Fry as manager (Peterborough scum, spit).
We managed to lose 0-1 direct from a corner and i was truly gutted. Very memorable as 1st time i had been truly gutted. Since, i'm used to it now!!!
