What guitar/amp set up do you have?

Elite?

I got mine out last night, it sounds great, better and more beefy than a regular tele. Sadly I've wang danged the neck from too many live dust ups so there is a bit of a wobble issue. I need to get it sorted to get it back to form. I remeber that it used to be a bit rare but now it's had a re-release its all over the place.
Still they don't do new ones in my colour so you know it's a real 72.

Epiphone Sheraton through Fender Hot Rod 40watt - use built in drive pedal and a Crybaby Wah.

Years ago, used to use wah, distortion, watkins tape copycat and chorus through H&H 150watt, Orange 18" bass cab with Marshall 4x12 on top but these days my back's too fucked to carry that sort of gear!

There are many many many types of Gibson flying V. I tried some $700 ones that sounded like utter utter bollocks and these were still legit Gibson (not epiphone).

I had a similar experience with Gibson Explorers. My nephew wanted to buy one and themodern Gibson one was Rubbish, The neck profile felt odd, the pickups were mushy, then we tried a Tokai which was shit hot and the pickups sounded better.

In the end he bought a PRS CE22, with his savings....he's only 16....lucky Barstard.

Lovely guitars, V's. Great for stage, not sure about playing at one at home.

KK Downing of the mighty Judas Priest is probably the fibnest exponent of Flying V-ness, IMHO.
