What font is your CV in?

Serifs make it look 'corporate'. I am going with Lucida Sans Unicode and trying to fuck it about to make it fit on 2 pages.
That's horrible to read online though.

Why helvetica/arial might seem boring, at least they're east to read on paper and screen.

Ah - sorry - this is to hand out on paper to prospective employers (I assume, being a careers fair - not been to one before)

So - no LsU? :(

I will perhaps lay off the dashes too :(

not neutral, no.
it's a beautiful, classic font.

i use HelveticaNeue btw.

It's as near neutral as you can get.

For a CV I'd always use something neutral like Helvetica.

I don't think anyone is going to have a strong reaction to something like Helvetica. Which means they will be thinking about what you have written rather than the typeface you've chosen.

If you choose a font that they are going to register as being something different from normal, then there is a much higher chance that they will respond negatively to it than positively. I would say.

(And I say this working in a profession that is inclined to get picky about these kinds of things as much as I would expect to be the case in a fashion/retail context. If you need to demonstrate that you have some level of visual awareness then it should be conveyed by a clear and well composed layout rather than choosing idiosyncratic typefaces.)

Sorry, but teuchter's right - it's got to be more about the layout and content - something people want to read, and find easy to read.

"Helvetica/Arial" - sacrilege - the two are not comparable.

I think my CV might be in Meta+, haven't updated it for yonks.

Wouldn't a serif font be easier to read though and as CV tend to be a bit of read it could be better choice.

Mine was in Garamond for ages, which I love, but my bf re-wrote it for me the other day and now it's 'New Century Schoolbook'.

If I had such a thing, it would be in Arial - thinking about it I must have done one 8 years or so ago when I got promoted slightly.. I'm trying to remember who I was up against ...

I reserve bold italic pink comic sans for the purists on here.

:D:D:D

I don't understand - I was on Word and work and now mine here on Vista and there's no Helvetica on either

I would use something very standard, and like others have said, neutral.

Arial, or whatever the one is that Outlook defaults to.

ETA, you need to choose something that most versions of Word will have, given that at some point you will need to email it to people.
