yup - I went to their shop in brighton, prepared to shell out for a nice dress, only for them to have run out of the fabric that I liked

so I spent my money on make up and food instead

Oooh they're lovely - see what you mean about a halterneck dress now. Trouble is they're nearly £70 and I can make it myself for just under £30.

I've seen that pattern though - I could definitely make that

I think it comes from being a gothy punky type in cornwall in the 80's when you couldn't buy anything and had to make it yourself

I'm thinking a peasant blouse effort in the skully cloth with a large flouncy/floaty skirt in black trimmed with black lace. Very ethno-emo-goth.

I think it would work well with the pattern you liked the look of, and if you wanted to do something with a bit more fabric, you could add in some plain black or red to match in with the print.

IMHO it'd look great as a sarong if you don't get around to doing anything else with it.

If using that print for me, I'd have gone for a handkerchief type top or something fitted, with big drapey sleeves - but that's because I don't really do dresses.
