What does your vehicle do to the gallon?

I don't know how much a gallon is:confused:

But I get about 90 miles to 10 litres or, to use the measure I first learned, i use just under 7litres to 100k. Which is phenomenal.

Round of applause please for the 1.0l Corsa. (In silver, natch).

I got mine specifically cos of it fuel consumption and its doing a good 62 to a gallon of disls and it pokey as fuck. Thats aint pootling consumption thats motorway jobby.

The beetle still gives a good 30 ish. Griff we'll do some more pics for ya :) Its now fizz's sons pulling car:D

The display thing says 34.6 at the mo, which is mostly motorway miles.

Audi A3 T-Sport, we've taken it over the 150,000 mark so I'm waiting for the turbocharger to detonate any day now.

probably less than 20 in town may be up to a heady 25 on motorways , drove to Hull and back this weekend and reckon it cost about £ 80 .
15 year old W128 Merc 320. bought at a time that MPG wasn`t such an issue but the bloody thing keeps passing its MOT so its staying with me.

As a matter of interest how do they measure cars' consumption these days - surely they dont still talk about mpg when petrol hasnt been sold in gallons for probably 15-20 years? I would have thought the miles per litre figure would be very small.

I guess I should read What Car? magazine or similar like I used to avidly in my youth!

I don't know anybody who has gone out their way to get a more economical car this year, so what do you find acceptable fuel consuption for the journeys you do?
You do now. My old Fiat Coupe finally began to cause me more trouble than it was worth this year and in buying a new car I deliberately looked for something that would be more economical. I went from an average 24mpg to an average 37mpg, based on my actual driving (rather than theoretical values).

They flip it round. Litres per km or litres per mile. The former is more common.

400m from a full tank of diesel.

Full tank of diesel used to cost me £37 but now costs nearly £50 or sometimes more ...

I think .. anyhow.

anyone fancy writing me a program in C to calculate this using sentinel values. i have an assessment this afternoon and it's hurting my head.
