If only. It's ALL about saying sorry. If you do, everything's alright and you're going to heaven. Depending on the severity, you sometimes have to say alot more than just 'sorry'. It can be quite exhausting.

Yeah. It's more like instead of saying sorry to the person you have injured, you apologize to a weird old man in a box who uses his magic powers to make it all better, but only if you state multiple times that a two thousand year old Jewish woman never had sex.

It's just wonderfully bizarre.

What I should have said is that it should be pretty obvious from even a glance at this thread, that there is nobody here praising or even really defending the Catholic church.

Making jokes about the pedophilia scandals is really something that works better when they're used to deflate the church's claims to piety and it's unending moral hypocrisies. When you just say that the catholic church is full of perverts, to a bunch of people who obviously don't care much for the church just makes you look like A) you don't really know anything else about Catholics and B) someone who is just needlessly crass.

Everyone knows that the Catholic church has big problems with Sexual abuse, I don't think anyone here thinks otherwise. However, I would argue that it's only the start of their problems as an institution.
