What do you wear to work?

I've just accepted a job working in an office. This means that I'll have to wear clothes. And socks. I might even need to brush my teeth.

:(

Nah - don't bother. Maybe they will just think you're eccentric.

Actually I work with a naturist. Thankfully he does not indulge in this while at work but sometimes if it is really warm in summer he takes his shirt off and when he is sitting behind his desk with just his bare chest showing you do think "Is he or isn'e he...?" :D

I used to come in suits but have given up with that now as nobody else does, now I come in smart casual. I like dressing up in a suit to work though, makes me feel more efficient for some reason, then I like coming home and getting into my scruffy combats.

Dream girl's outfits look nice. I wear a suit for meetings - twice a month, otherwise one of the many pairs of raw dry jeans I currently have on rotation.

This sort of thing usually

I love this.

I'm going to try and find some time over the weekend to buy some work clothes. Bet I come home with another pair of jeans. :(

I wear a fetching combination of beige Steve Irwin type shorts (the only cool bit about the uniform), an incredibly oversized beige polo shirt and and incredibly undersized beige jumper with trainers.

i was dressed quite smartly today, black shirt, black trousers, had to dress up a bit smarter for a meeting, one of my work mates said i looked very nice today, and added, "usually you look like a ragamuffin":D because i tend to wear a hoodie , teeshirt, and jeans

I have about six pairs of 'smart' work trousers and a selection of tops to wear with them - shirts, jumpers and just general tops. I have a couple of jackets and suits but I don't wear the suit very often (it's so rare where I worked for women to wear suits that you have to say 'got an interview?' if someone wears them.

Crucially, bar about two shirts which come out twice a year, none of it needs ironing. That is the secret of a good work wardrobe IMO. I forget to wear the dresses. But I think dream girl's dresses are ace.

Work trousers are a thorny issue. The reason I end up just wearing jeans so much is partly that all the smart trousers I can find are vile, made of horrible nylony material, and deeply unflattering.

Black / grey jacket, black / grey / cream t shirts, black work trousers, black trainers.

School managers have to look smart, run around the school a lot and have everything washable to remove puke/snot/paint/food etc. And I only like to do 2 washes - dark and light, so no colours for me.

Super-smart for clients, my normal clothes the rest of the time, but with fewer frayed edges and holes than I'd wear at home. Thick cardi against the fierce aircon.

I badly need advice on where to get things to wear for work; the criteria are -
1) no ironing
2) legs covered
3) comfy cos I is a bit podgy round the middle
4) 'smart casual'
5) cheap
6) not black, cos nearly everything I own is black :hmm:

1 - check - cotton tee shirts and trousers dried on the hanger.
2.- not during the summer - I'm off to buy some shorts today.
3. check
4. :whistling smiley: - I'm more "smart sk8r" at the moment. :o
5. check
6. nope - everything gets washed at the same time in my house - so is black or grey ;)

As I work in a (posh ladies) clothes shop I get given an allowance to take clothes from our current stock to wear at work. This sounds good but when you work in a place where a t-shirt can cost up to £40 it is a bit limiting really.

At the moment I'm wearing wide-legged linen trousers (all you who only wear stuff you don't need to iron are very sensible, linen is a nightmare!), t-shirts and nice cardigans/jumpers. I may get a nice dress with the last of my allowance next week, just to liven things up.

At least I work somewhere that sells casual stuff, I know some girls who work in shops that sell mainly occasion wear and their uniform allowances only afford them one ridiculously ornate dress which is ragged and ruined by the end of it's life.

my work has no dress code.
from jeans/t-shirt to dress/stockings...
i wear them all depending on my mood.
i do make an effort to look presentable though.

I always think the girls that work in Jesire concessions look lovely.

Work for me is smart casual with a dress code of no jeans/ no logos/ no jewellery and a few other 'no's'. I get a mufti allowance in my pay each month which I think is about £7 ! I like skirts/trousers with pockets to keep all the scribbles I make throughout the day.

today i am mostly wearing some lovely black high waister flared turn ups (they are lovely right  )

.....with a hole in the bum.
