What do you order when you go into a pub?

That is good but can be astonishingly priced. Went into pub in Bath and ordered a half a year or so ago and they wanted nearly three quid!
three qid for a half , what a fucking con. 3 quid a pint is ok, but charging that much for a halfm they deserve to go prison

It's about 8 bucks for a pint, which is like 4 pounds, I think.

I'm surprised that it's more expensive in UK, seeing that you're that much closer to Belgium.

I was about ten pence short and they wouldn't let me off:mad:It was the sort of pub that had food where the starter menu began at seven quid for a bit of hummus:rolleyes:

Strongbow is over fizzy minging acid shit IMO:p Westons bottled organic is being sold in a lot of places now-and found Old Rosie in pub the other day on draught (a pleasing 7.5 percent for two quid) Kingstone press is not too bad and getting quite popular nationwide. I heart cider and do miss Somerset for so many types of yellow and orange nirvana
I like my fizzy acid drink :(

Depends who I am out with and what for, really. If I go to the pub at lunchtime with work colleagues, or a quick drink after work with a friend, I'll get a glass of white wine.

If I'm out with butchers, or go to the pub in the evening with friends, I'll order a pint of lager. I like premium lagers best, but if I'm in a pub I'll tend to stick to weaker ones like Fosters or Carling, because I get in too much of a mess otherwise.

Wine of any colour, or a gin and tonic. In the winter I sometimes have a whisky mac or a ginger wine. If I'm not drinking I'll have a lime and soda.

varies - i'll try a real ale, always have green king ipa if it's on, or abbot, or london pride, or harveys, or whatever, if none of the above, usually got for a stella or kronenburg, late drink likely to be a JD, with ice:)

I love going for a drink in Holland. If you go to the bar they speak to you in English but if you sit at a table they speak to you in Dutch. It's because British people are the only ones that come to the bar apparently.

Guinness and if the Guinness is rank I'll go for something in a bottle or dark spirits.

Depends. If just out for a quick drink then probably a pint of lager (Grolsch, San Miguel or whatever really), if out for an evening but not a big piss up then wine or if I am out for the night then double vodka or jack daniels and diet coke or cocktails if somewhere cheap.
I tend to try every one on the menu and then be sick.:o I drink spirits if I'm going to drink lots because it doesn't make me bloated and the hangovers aren't as bad as with wine.

if someone else is paying, love cherry beer but tis £4.50 a pint on draught here (Fruuli and Liefmanns)
Glad too see so many lime and soda fans-my fave non booze drink and cheap too. And pub coke and lemonade is so often flat and foul.

I never had Fruuli until my friend bought me a pint when I was in Oxfordia. I have since looked for it in every fancy pub I have been in since. I Don't think we're classier enough for it up here :(

Have it on draught in a few Lancaster pubs-found it cheaper in a few bars in Manchester. Liefmanns Kriek is also mighty fine and a pleasing 6%.

9 times out of 10, Fullers London Pride. I am loving that shit.

I'm with you on that - my usual aside when ordering a pint from the barstaff is "Only two good things ever came out of London - the M1 North and Fullers London Pride" !

I look for decent cider on draught all year around and if there's none to be seen I plump for a nice Belgium beer or a fine cask ale (especially in the colder months).
