My great grandad got interned for 3 months, but there's some confusion about where, Frongoch probably but other places were used. He didn't take part but my teenage gran and her sister did and weren't interned, so it's assumed that it was punishment for their activity.
Bit of a bump and not exactly the right thread...but here goes...possibly a dangerous thing to say, but I thought this 2-part BBC documentary was pretty good.
Pretty good in that I, personally, learnt some stuff and thought that the contributors appeared credible/knowledgable.
Be interested to hear what those more clued up than me thought of it.
I had not seen this interview before.
Just a snippet on instagram...Kathleen Clarke interviewed about her last moments with her husband Tom Clarke before his execution... her brother Ned Daly was also executed.
