What do anarchists want to achieve?

I believe someone said that to him months ago pisstakingly after he started this line before. It's at times like that when his lack of experience - political, cultural, anything let him down.

it is 100% relevant to the OP

but it is also the question that "anarchists" are too ashamed to answer, because it highlights the sheer redundancy of the label "anarchist"

No it's not as it goes. I'd like you to argue why you think it is.

Ther fact is, you've been shown to be using a tools understanding of the term anarchy then trying to force that childs understanding on anarchists. Quite rightly, they've pointed out what their use constitutes, wheere and how it differs from yours and had a little laugh at you.

Max, in all seriousness for a minute. Will you do me a favour? Read Bookchin's book about the Spanish anarchists before 1936. That should enlighten you about working towards an anarchist society.

What do cyclists want to achieve? Why the fuck do they all want to go pedal their way to Russia to see a belly-dancing bumble-bee in Minsk? I don't understand cyclists at all. If you look outside at any random cyclist you'll see they're all either on their way directly towards Russia or are heading towards an airport or ferry that'll take them closer.

Without singling people out, just thought I should give pats on the back all round for some of the intelligent and witty comments on here.

Clearly none of the ones I'm thinking of came from max.

which brings me right back to my question, What do anarchists actually want to achieve?

Alright, one last chance... You clearly haven't studied anything to do with anarchism so I'm going to make it really easy. Radio 4's in our time did a very good programme on anarchism, it covers all the bases and is also pretty rigorous, definitely not simplistic.

You can listen again here. Actually I'd recommend it to anyone interested in anarchy because it really is surprisingly comprehensive (for a 45 minute programme).

Indeed the first 3 minutes answer most of your questions... :D

just tell me, does it say anyhting about how non-anarchists would be converted in the event of an anarchist takeover?
What are we going to be taking over? In the event of a social revolution, (which would be a process, not an event), the role of anarchists will be to demonstrate how self management will work.

If yo don't want to join in, you don't have to. that's the whole point.

How many people on these boards are in favour of our current masters max? How many are even in favour of the electoral system? Are any of us locked up? Do we lead horrible, downtrodden lives because of our beliefs (well ok some of you might)?

And as Cripsy said the entire point is that you have the individual freedom to opt-out as it were.

Now listen to the Radio programme I linked to because it really would help if you had the faintest idea what you're talking about (I mean you've even admitted to knowiung nothing about anarchism.).

no it isnt that all anarchists want the same thing

it's that no anarchists actually want anarchy

What all anarchists want, in some shape or form, is the enactment/living out of the various forms of anarchism they support, so they may indeed want "anarchy", but not in the simplistic way that you mean the word.

To be fair VP it's a sticky point, berry easy to be too sweet about it.

Oh god I'm sorry... :(

what is the difference between anarchism and anarchy?

and what is the similarity between anarchism and anarchy?
