What did everyone do with their shop bought and home made VHS's?

I still have a load of mine...

Few movies, and loads and loads of music videos I used to compile from about 1993-2001. Loads and loads of 90's indie stuff, some glasto performances/mtv unplugged/random live performances from people like suede, placebo and morcheeba and loads of other crap that I used to love. I'll prolly keep them as long as they will play.

another vote for keep 'em. I just moved my old flatmate's VHS collection to his mums - 700 odd videos and that was just around two thirds of it.

Can't be arsed with that; I just want to tape Corrie if I'm busy at 7.30 and watch it later.

Exactly. Torrenting takes ages and you have to actually find someone who has it on offer. Mess about seeding it for ages, burn it onto a DVD and hope my crappy DVD player will recognise the format downstairs on the TV - instead I could just press one button on my VCR..

I dumped mine a long time ago after usefulness/sentimental value got trumped by 'taking up too much space.' I doubt there'll be many VHS collections left anywhere in a few years time: walked past a huge stack of lovingly labelled VHS tapes of Liverpool football games dumped next to a bin on a country road in Hong Kong a couple weeks ago.

I have loads of old videos, but no video player anymore just a DVD.

Why am I keeping them?

Can you still buy a video player? I haven't seen one in years.

Sure I saw a combined DVD/ Video player advertised somewhere.

I still have my videos and a video player - I haven't used it for over 10 years as I've not had a tv screen but I hope it still works! Some things I've taped off the tv probably are not worth keeping but I have a few films on video and also videos of dance shows and a music vid I was on.

i have a tonne of old vhs' at my place, me and my roomates kinda horde movies so we have every single possible movie we all own and have like a massive collection of vhs, im not entirely sure on how many, but lower qual aside the more movies the merrier right!

I have pretty much done away with all mine. The only one remaining was a French Film 'When The Cat's Away' which i would have bought on DVD only they only released it in France without the subtitles which the VHS had.

I managed to get it converted though. So no more VHS for me. Ever.
