What complicated thing shall I cook this weekend?

I'm going to experiment and deep-fry half and bake half. I don't have a deep fat fryer but I have a large enough pan and plenty of oil.
 
Let me know how it works out - I love scotch eggs but don't have a deep fat fryer any more. I've tried to do them in the pan, but they ended up a bit soggy.:(
