What colour are your saucepans?

Red kitchenaid, red and orange Le Creuset, old black enamel ones from David Mellor 25 years ago. My heart-shaped red Le Creuset casserole is my favourite :)

Euuuuwww!!! :(

I'd really really like the big pot but I'm worried that I'd blinking drop it, mind you it's two handed isn't it so I might fare better than with the saucepans.

I have palps everytime I get it down because it's on top of the cupboards but as you say it's 2 handled so it's pretty sturdy and it holds a lot.

I love mine.

Another trip to TK Maxx so tempting especially as I've just managed to break one of the handles on my ceramic casserole, grrr

Do it, you won't regret it. It's dual purpose because even when it's not in use it sits there looking purty.

That was my reasoning for buying a kenwood mixer too. :o

I'm definitely not short of space except in my kitchen which is a weeny galley with hardly any cupboards :D I expect I could find room for a casserole though :hmm: Tis quite good actually cos the only thing that tempts me into unnecessary buying is shiny kitchen implements :o

Me too, my kitchen is tiny. Half my stuff is in cupboards in the dining room.

Half of me likes the tiny kitchen thing cos I'm not keen on people offering to help and getting under my feet while I'm cookinz, this way they can't even get in there :D The other half of me really liked a big kitchen cos that's where folks come and talk, it's the hearth of the home.

I just want more storage and worktops. I've got 1 double and 3 small cupboards and only one worktop as the other one has the kettle and stuff on it. If I owned the house I'd knock it through to the dining room, extend at the back and build a utility. I don't though so I'll make do and stop buying new stuff for the kitchen. :)

That's sounds quite similar to mine, space wise. I'm lucky in that it's open plan so opens onto the living/dining bit with a raised bar effort that separates it. What I would have liked was the room to put the washing machine in the bathroom, like they do in Scandinavia. More room in the kitchen and dirty clothes where you take em off. Makes perfect sense to me, dunno why it's not caught on over here

I've got a big kitchen with a lovely big table but the work area and the cupboards are shit. It was designed by someone who lives off microwave meals I reckon.

You do wonder what gets into the heads of some of these kitchen designers, eh? Tbh, the more space I have, the more I'll expand to fit it, so my galley kitchen keeps me focused on what I actually need & to be fair it's fairly well designed given the limitations. But I'd love to design a large kitchen from scratch, I'd love that sort of project. Even to where the sockets are, natural movement from sink to hob, picking up ladles etc on the way and within reach. There's a workflow dammit

All my cast iron is black, except for the enamelled stuff, which is orange or red. Pretty much everything else is Canadian-made stainless steel-- Paderno or Chaudier.

I want a kitchen with one of those center area things, where you chop shit. I'll hang pans and garlic and shit from above, maybe some onions or tomatoes... a hook for my baseball cap and maybe learn how to say hello in french... and cook loads of caribbean food :D
