T_a, what's the bora like space wise and stuff?? I may need to get something newer soon and not sure about the newer Golfs.

Its alright space wise...the back seats fold down flat too so the boot space becomes huge if you need it.
I can fit 2 large teens and a child seat in the back no worries.
The passat is nicer and bigger but the interior isnt as nice as the bora
Its my second car i dont use it that much but its nice to drive..definately a family car.

I always liked those Beta Spiders/Coupes and HPEs.

Beta Coupes are uber rare, Montecarlo's are also in very short supply now...thanks to Lancia's famouns rustproofing HPE's - haven't seen one in a long, long time. I think there are only 15 registered with the owners club

The bodywork is fine, surprisingly good cos it came from Spain - it's been well looked after, fully rustproofed etc. by my uncle (i've mentioned his car collection before....FIAT 131 Abarth...mmmm...)

The mechanics are screwed - the engine's seized so I need to source a decent unit from Italy, maybe drop in a modern Alfa 33 1.7 if it fits...I was toying with an Alfa 75 2 litre engine, but I hear the injectors are more trouble that its worth

Oh and it needs a new hood....won;t see daylight for a few years.

after years of driving fast gas guzzlers (last car was a modded Impreza that did 12 mpg!) I've grown up.
I bought thye CDTI Civic - 51mpg average so far and it's bloody nippy I'll tell thee!
