What broadband service should I sign up to at home?

When I mentioned that to the online sales person 'Katie' she said that you can't get BT broadband with the Basic phone line.

Was she talking crap?

Yes, she was talking crap. On the BT Basic scheme you can subscribe to any BB service that you wish (if it is compatible with a BT line, which the majority are).

I dithered about going for the basic line (I'm eligible') but the costs after you go over the allocated £4.50 or whatever it is, are stupidly high!

I don't use the phone very much, but it is possible that I'd end up worse off....I think I used to average between £45 and £55, but it's quite difficult to do a straight sum to work out how much that would come to on the basic line.

I should really check it out properly I suppose.... :hmm:

bt the fuckers told me my line would be activated today, woke up to a text saying that engineer was scheduled to come out 19th. Which I am going to miss because I'll be away for work. That Be deal only goes to the 30th so i have to pray there is no more delays.

7 quid for 8 meg unlimited is great. I'm correct in assuming if i crack and say I want the 24 meg after a few months (most likely) they wont object to me giving them more money?
