What backpack/bag do you use?

I've got Eurotrek backpack, which is cheap brand sold in Milletts. For what you pay they always seem to last well. I have a rucksack of theirs thats seen 20 years use.

I've checked out all the ones mentioned, and ordered another one the same as I've already got (different colour though!)

Only £20 from Amazon

What I like best about them is that the straps are really padded, so they don't rub me. I took my North Face one to town yesterday and even through a coat I could feel it rubbing my arm.

Lowe Alpine is an excellent brand - same company that makes lowepro photography bags.

I think karrimor make good backpacks too

Karrimor used to make some great stuff but has been bought by Mike Ashley, the same man who ruined the Slazenger and Dunlop names. I don't expect any of their stuff to be anything other than chep tat from now on, I'm afraid.

When the world ends in a fiery nuclear apocalypse, only this and the cockroaches will survive.

The older stuff was excellent, but the latest kit is tat as you say. Maybe a case of buying in cheapo equipment/clothing and stitching a Karrimor logo on it. I've seen lots in sales - £70 down to £20 kind of thing, for an item really worth less than £20.

Was stupid expensive, £80, but I cycle with a 17" beast of a laptop, se needed something hardcore. When I'm wearing it's like the laptop doesn't exist.

Something similar to this Crumpler -slightly different design - fucking expensive but the missus bought me it for xmas ;) (and borrows it for work)

I bought a Crumpler bag once - it was really sturdy and good quality, but it was so well padded that there was actually very little space inside it for the size.

I know what you mean, there's a distinct lack of space in my rucksack (and it has space for a laptop - but I don't need laptop space, but they don't sell one without it). Mind you it is the most comfortable rucksack I've ever had, it'll do for work but I wouldn't go travelling with it.
