I honestly think the whole premise of a "guilty pleasure" is a bankrupt and unpleasant one (and that's ASIDE from the evil fucking club night).

You like Groove Armada? No, you shouldn't feel guilty. Surprised though.
At the end of the day, liking music is the main thing, I agree.
Silva said:so having guilt based on other people's perception of music would mean I'd have to turn into a indie snob which only listens to music nobody else heard of.
- i feel guilty now
Dubversion said:No, i hate Groove Armada. GA = Girls Aloud
Bazza said:Come on, fess up and don't be ashamed.
.....but what music do you like that you really shouldn't (because you normally like other music/it's actually genuinely crap/it could open you up to ridicule).
Bazza said:You strike me as someone who is going to be gutted when Girls Aloud go their seperate ways later this year.
if they do i will hold you personally responsible and when i find you i will rip off your heed. there's always rumours about them due to be splitting though. but yeah it'll happen one day. shame that nadine has split with jesse but at least it means she's not gonna be buggering off to live in the US now, so they can survive a bit longer. oooh roll on next month!! fourth row seats at wembley!!
But you like Chumbawamba don't you?Dubversion said:there's no music i like that i really shoudn't.

i'll take my own advice - and bugger off to another thread methinks.![]()

Dubversion said:but bazza, you set the parameters of the thread thus:
there's no music i like that i really shoudn't. Normally like other music - well surely variety is a good thing? It's genuinely crap - well, sometimes things can be enjoyably crap. Open you up to ridicule - it's a shame that people give a fuck, to be honest.
Bazza said:Damn you, you got me there.
However, Dub, I will make this observation. You often absolutely slate music you don't like in no uncertain terms. Someone could be on here talking about something they love and you and others will ridicule it. Next time they listen to it, this could leave them feeling with perhaps the same feeling as someone who is susceptible to having a 'guilty' pleasure might.
So you can't have a guilty pleasure but you can make someone feel guilty about their choice in music?

She does this duet called Enough is Enough, which is really fast and 80s and jolly well makes my feet tap, and I can sing both harmonies, but the absoilute best bit is this guitar twang during the bridge, just to bring the chorus back in, when we were kids we'd dstand there tapping our foots and then all do a massive guitar twang and crease up!Bazza said:Milesy, sorry but I read about it and it's true.
as i said, they are due to record another album together this year - i read about that and it's true, too.lily allen is just another carbuncle on the arse of humanity... Her and her ilk throughout the music industry just aren't worth discussion.
If you're 13 then this sort of sh*te will appeal....
Bazza said:If the general consensus on an artist lead to comments like this, I would suggest that a guilty pleasure is born.
