Lots of tea.
I had a full Irish too, but with coffee
Continental breakfast : Three squares of Kiri and three slices of salami the one with the peppery crust. Afters: mini chocolate and vanilla sponge cake and a coconut biscuit. Orange 'limo' to wash it down.
Icelandic yogurt because it's the cool food now and I'm desperately hip.
As I am still in derby, I'm hoping for more Staffordshire oatcakes.
Pannetone French toast again. I have decided it's my new favourite extravagant breakfast.
You're in the wrong shire for that then.
Four slices of seedy bread, black tea.
I think they were bought in derby....they are difficult to get good of anywhere but here and a real treat
Ah, I see - contraband smuggled across the Staffordshire border.
Toasted sourdough bread with plenty butter and sime strong cheddar cheese.
Big mug of coffee
Here you go hash tag - some online purveyors:
Buy Staffordshire Oatcakes and Oatcake Mix online, Stoke-on-Trent
Oatcakes by courier on HighLaneOatcakes (oddly expensive)
I get mine from Poveys Oatcakes 5 dozen for £12 inc next day delivery.
I pasted the wrong second link - that was one of the sites I found. I've never had flaccid oatcakes, so I might order some.
They're more like an oat pancake than the Scottish oatcake style
I'm told they are bought from the market in derby.
hash tag what do you put on them? My bil is from those parts and sometimes brings some back, but I haven't really enjoyed them with cheese or jam.
I had seedy toast with plum jam and coffee
I've made oat pancakes They are very nice. I never knew they were a Scottiah thing. The recipe I use was from my granny who came from Tyrone and had close contacts with Scotland in her childhood. I think members of her family used travel over to work for weeks on end to Scotland.
Plain with butter. I usually have bacon rolled in mine. Fried eggs, scrambled are better though.
The oat pancakes are from north Staffordshire - a local delicacy.
A boiled egg on 2 slices of seeded bread with spinach and 2 black teas. Ill have an apple later.
Croissants filled with ham and cheese (straight from the oven)
Handful of nuts, a cheese & tomato toastie and black tea.
Toast with mango chutney, because I didn't have my glasses on. Quite nice.
Toast with last year's plum and mulled wine jam, to see if I can get away with giving my last jars away this year. I think maybe only as passive aggressive gifts. Coffee.
Porridge with plum and date compote. Mug of tea.
A boiled egg on 2 slices of seeded bread with spinach and a black tea. Will have some red grapes in a bit.
Remains of last night's turkey stew.
Mug of lapsang.
