I like my knee high yellow socks. Practical and stylish (and a tentative link to post a picture - here it comes)

    Yes. Yes I do.

Could a mod please change the thread title so ATOMIC SUPLEX understands it? I will edit the OP to be more vague.

Aldi are doing some knee high wool mix socks at the mo (15/09/13), a mighty £2.99, but they are surprisingly good.

I have had socks DELIVERED to me from Scotland geminisnake which will be worn tomorrow. New socks always feel lovely :)

I think that is the furthest socks have ever come to me before

It's that time of year when I start thinking about good warm socks that'll stand some light pottering.

Bridgedale Merino Fusion Summits are what I've just bought. Designed for the North Face of The Eiger but used primarily by me in a centrally heated living room:

Have just purchased some SmartWool ones as I could do with something half-decent for walking.

Jeep aren't bad, either. Bought a couple of pairs of them recently. I am also about to experiment with some Meindl Air Revolution socks:

Serious sock users (I have Badgers in mind here) might like to check out this chap's page - SERIOUS SOCKS - with extensive reviews, photos of him wearing his socks of choice and an invitation to engage him in debate on his forum where you may 'sock it to him'.

Heat holders to me would imply that there is heat in the foot in the first place. I'll stick with my Hoggs 75% wool I think, they make my feet warm.

True enough, if you have circulation problems then they might not be as effective.

Do they not take ages to dry? My only experience with bamboo fabric was my grand daughter's nappy liners and they took longer to dry then any of the others.

I got eight pairs of Bridgedale Merino socks a few weeks ago - half price in a local mountain store. Very comfy and nice. Also dry in no-time compared to other wools. :)

I prefer them to have a bit of colour though, maybe on the heel, because it's the only way you can be sure you've paired them correctly. You can always put a plain black sock with another plain black sock but you can't be 100% you've paired them correctly. Some people worry about that sort of thing, you see. You want to avoid carrying that nagging doubt around with you all day.
