If you're not already aware of his work, try a quick google on John Blakemore. Some of the most sensitive B&W flora photography you're ever likley to see.

Think he used to teach in Derby. May still do. Not to far from your neck of the woods.

The pic you posted reminds me of the sort of thing that was very popular in the late 80's. A comment that isn't being judgemental in anyway. Just a comment.

Best War : Soundbomb goes boom - Lucky shot. Shooting in burst caught the pressure wave of the percussion grenade as it went off the shot's before and after in the sequence merely show rocks flying through the air. The Grenade was thrown by IDf at a group of Palestinian children to disperse them.

Best Portrait : Sadu in India.

Best Racing Shot : - HRH Prince Michael of Kent goign round the top gear track in the Naiper Railton.

I wouldn't trust flickr's most interesting. I have pictures of urbanites in waders for a walk up Deptford creek which seem to have been fetished by a group called the welly boot boys who like photos of men in welly boots. Current most interesting photo according to flickr is Brainaddict in boots.
