Baise-Moi (Rape me) has been out fuckin years though!:D

I want newish ones it seems he's seen every fuckin film going including Kidulthood :mad: (which I really wanted to see)

Dont really know whats newish...Why dont you browse the shelves and see what looks good.

I love the world-cinema selection they have in HMV on oxford street. They have a good w-c range in the shop in the Tate Modern too.

Yeh I think that’s what I’ll end up doing but just wanted any tips on what to or what not to get.

Jamon Jamon - Old spanish smutty film in which the two main rivals have a fight hitting each other with a side of Ham. Quality *piglet getting hit my motorbike* scene too :D

that reminds me - has anyone seen 'The Other Side of the Bed'? random Spanish film about a group of friends basically just sleeping with each other. Ok, nothing random about that when it comes to film plots, but quite funny when the film suddenly launches into full-blown Musical when not expected...and i dont think anything was mentioned about the bizarre bursting into song moments in the blurb or reviews on the case. :cool:

Yeh, but you have to concentrate on the film and reading the subtitles!

I find subtitles are often better than not having them cos you can understand the dialogue over all the shouting and banging that goes on - you always know what's going on in foreign films, but I often find myself confused by American films.

Ichi the Killer is awsome Almost anything by Miike Takashi will be along these lines.
Sympathy for mr vengence has all the elements you are looking for and a fabulous film to boot.

Kim ki duks Samaritan girl is out soon, that's pretty good with plenty of sex and vilolence.

Also try 60 pinky vilolence film Sex and fury Nudy samurai lady slashes her way though almost everyone.

Humm these are all Japanese or Korean. There must be some bloody western films.
 
Takeshi's awesome! To be honest, I cant think of any recent 'gory' western movies.

I thought Hostel was going to be more than it was...apparently, the Czech peeps hated the film and said it was actually filmed in Slovakia...where that stuff *actually* goes on... :rolleyes:
 
Kitano! But you're right, they're both good...

And Kinji Fukasaku...Battle Royale! 1st one's fantastic but they kinda lose the plot in the second...or I did! :)

I always thought it was rape me - it's not a direct translation I dont think so it's a bit of a grey area.

Hopefully someone French can clear it up :cool:

You're missing out - seriously, get used to reading subtitles - you won't regret - it would be a terrible shame to discount all foreign films

I do like subtitles just not on a 'I wanna watch a film and chill out and not concentrate' night IYSWIM :) :)

I think (from what I have been told as I am barely mono-lingual) it has been translated as 'fuck me' but the more accurate translation would be 'rape me'. Isn't it slang?

Saw it at the cinema. Wasn't massively impressed.

Subtitles aren't hard work for me, I can happily have a relaxing night in watching subtitled films.

He's not as awsome as miike takashi. I think Takeshi is a bit overrated but that doesn't mean he's not great, he's just not quite as super great as eveyone makes out.
