Harewoods goals were absolute class :)
Villa had chances and West Ham got lucky- defensively they need to improve ;)

4-0 4-0 4-0

Wheres holteman so I can really rub his nose in it? :D

someone call?......

we were shit, really shit, had no real shape, reduced to punting long balls up field, and looked weak on both flanks......sorensen who has made an ok start to the season was completley at fault for the 3rd...

we dont seem to have any creativity in midfield, bouma was shite, mellberg seems to be getting worse every game latley, and ridgewell iv always thought was neevr really up to the standerd

least we can still win the odd game at home though aye nate :p

A fucking disgrace....

West AAAAAAHHHHMMMM did'nt actually play that great, but we were so bad we just gave it to them.

I'd drop half the fucking team. Sorensen should'nt be allowed to play in this team again - too many silly mistakes, and he's now a dodgy keeper. Bouma looked woeful, Mellberg should be stripped of the captaincy, and McCann should be carted off to the reserves. One of the worst perfomances I have ever seen - its gonna be a long, hard season.

Cheers lads!

*tears up ticket for Spurs match*

What you talking about - West Ham played really well. Their passing game was superb and tenacious with it.

And if you are going to tear up your tickets after one 'crap' game then not much of a fan are you?

One of the best attributes the Hammers have are their fans, the lift they can give to the team is priceless...something perhaps Villa fans need to learn.

As I said there were some positives from Villa, I don't think O'leary is a bad manager and he is obviously trying to build a good squad.

I can't get ESPN to work at the moment (is anyone else having problems with streaming programs? I'm not talking about Coolstreaming, which shut down last week, but some of the others?), so didn't watch the repeat. But I found a site with a torrent of this match, and downloaded it.

If anyone wants the torrent file to save the match for posterity, let me know.

I've watched about 60 mins but then went to work. Now have the afternoon off so plan to watch it again.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the direction Pardew is taking us. I know we haven't played anyone really good yet, but nor have we played the worst. We could have won at Newcastle if we'd not got Konchesky sent off, and apparently played well at Bolton despite losing. And we've hammered both Blackburn and Villa, both solid mid table sides.

Our defence looks better now than when Rio was playing; could Anton turn out better than his brother? He seems less lacksadaisical to me. We're playing good football yet also look more solid than we did when we went down.

Bring on fulham

At the moment the weakness is still in defence mainly due to inexpereince.

Anton Ferdinand - better than his brother? A way to go yet but the signs are promising. We also have youngsters Elliot Ward and Mark Noble waiting in the wings both of whom are fantastic prospects.

After the last 4 years of frittering away all the West Ham youth/academy talent - Lampard, Ferdiand, Cole, Johnson, Carrick and Defoe (What a fucking list!) it is nice to see this new breed gaining momentum and with such die-hard passion towards the club. Lets hope they can be better nurtured and kept for the benefit of West Ham. Youngs guns are great.

I got ribbed at work today by two gooners I am desperate to wipe the smile off their ugly over-confident mugs...

Yes, I think you are right. let's hope we can keep this lot. This has always been one of West Ham's biggest problems.

Also, Glen Johnson looked like one of the best new English right backs around before we sold him. We sold him far too early (although from a Board POV they got 6 million for an untested right back) - from an england point of view it has probably wrecked his career.

yep, he looks like half the player we were all raving about.

although that was only off the evidence of about 12 games, or something...

just point out to them that we are 2 places and 1 point above them in the league with a better goal difference.:D

Pah - to all those that said hammers were going straight down.

we're only four games in.

that said, I am becoming more confident that we may surprise a few people.

Accepted two bets from a manure fan in work today,

He bets £5 that hammers dont take a single point from the next two games-Fulham away and the arse at home!!!

He bets £10 hammers get relegated.

Me thinks I goy £15 coming my way. :D

True, true...

How good was Benayoun's goal! Early candidate for goal of the season.

I jumped out of my seat at seeing that,,,he looks a very exciting player...Ghost of Alan Devonshire or what?

no way a gaol of the season contneder, tuguy or pederson have that thing sown up so far.

That looked like such a good game. Dominent everywhere and our team of unprovven youngsters all looked premiership class.

Harewood working out how to shot again is a good thing as well i was really stating to have my suspicians about him, lets hope he can keep it up now.

The West Ham fans should get a special mention on Soccer am this Saturday with 20,000 people going "easy...easy..easy".
Villa really were awful and made West Ham look good. I've never seen the Villa away fans so quiet. Even at 5-1 last season against Tottenham we were still doing the Conga!
