He wasn't the most confident today though
David Pipe's a little terrier though, looked like he wanted to inflict GBH on their left back time and time again.

It is, yes. Ironic even.
Well done on your cup run by the way (I suspect you'll think I'm being insincere or sly, but I'm not!)
And now I've done the gracious bit - that third goal was fucking miles offside
he was half a pitch offside
It surely was, but I don't think it made much difference in the end. You battled well in the first half, but come the second half it only ever looked like WBA were going to win it.And now I've done the gracious bit - that third goal was fucking miles offside
Well we were debating this while watching the game. Clearly Miller was in an offside position when the ball was originally played forward, although he was running back towards his own line to get onside...however, the ball was then intercepted by a defender and, as it happens, played by the defender towards his own goal...which Miller then took possession of and scored, from what would have been an offside position. And now I've done the gracious bit - that third goal was fucking miles offside

Still, at least you'll have a nice pile o'cash in the coffers after the cup run.

I wanted Rovers to win, but I really didn't think you had much of a chance come the second half, with or without the 'offside' goal.I think it could have made a huge difference tbh. We were only one goal behind and had started the second half well. The best team won - but at 2-1 we still had a chance, the third goal saw them pull away.

Was onside under the rules..... it's the rule that is really stupid....
btw, saw read the stuff about Phillips & city... didn't do himself any favours when he left us, but glad he's moved on. Sometimes happens with a new boss & a new broom....
Funny weekend in the cup tho... the one result that I thought would be a 'shock' was the one result that wasn't....
Still, gas for promotion...... but you'll still be a division behind us...![]()

Rovers had their chances but didn't take them and got done for it in the end. Well done for getting so far tho.

millers leg gave way right at the last minute, if he'd had stayed up instead of falling on his arse he could have tapped that in

Lennie Lawrence did say on MOTD beforehand that they had watered the pitch. He was at pains to point out that this was to level the surfice, rather than to disadvantage the opposition.
I'm pretty sure I detected a glint in his eye, though I can't be certain...

that was pure comedy gold
it's funny, earlier this season we tried playing football against West Ham and got shat on but only lost 2-1. Today I thought we matched the opposition in many areas but the finishing was worlds apart. Being able to bring a player like Kevin Phillips on from the bench says it all.
I'm told that Ian Holloway's reaction when we pulled a goal back, there for the whole ground to see in the studio thing in the corner, was an absolute corker![]()
