Well played rovers :)

I thought Rovers' keeper had a bit of a mare, their defence was shaky and they couldn't put away some good chances. Apart from that...

I thought Rovers' keeper had a bit of a mare

'Flapper' Phillips they used to call him when he was at Bristol City and this evening the nation saw why.

Don't get me wrong, he's a decent enough player and was revered and well looked after by the club & fans. But when he was ousted from the side by a far superior goalkeeper, he duly threw his toys out of the pram and regrettably showed himself to be a nasty, petulant, egotistical bastard with an attitiude that didn't fit in at all with the team ethic at the club.

Maybe he's more at home at Bristol Rovers? I dunno.

Anyway, unlucky Rovers and well done the Baggies and here's hoping their extended cup run does untold damage to the promotion push :)

Edited to add: "ARE YOU WATCHING ASHTON GATE?"

the above of course is utter bollocks, he left because he wanted first team football and their lot didn't like who he signed for. End of. Classy hissy fit about him there 3D.

He's produced enough matchwinning performances to justify his hero status. 40 clean sheets in 102 starts for us says everything.

Nowt to say. Best side won, we showed it's possible to pass the ball around on that pitch so anyone who couldn't (I'm looking at you Fulham and Southampton) was making excuses.

Proud of the team and proud of the thousands who stayed behind to applaud the winners off.

:)

gutted but also proud of both our players and fans for the fucking good time we've had so far this season. i thought it couldnt get better than last season, but they're giving it a good go at running it close :)

No, he left because Gary Johnson didn't want him in his squad, or indeed at the club any more.

And how that came about was that Phillips was on a bad run of form and was dropped and replaced by Adriano Basso, who quickly proved to be a far better goalkeeper than Stevie. And instead of accepting this, as any good professional would do, and working hard in training to try and win his place back, Steve mouthed off around the club and along with *certain others*, slagged the manager and generally tried to create bad feeling around the Gate.

Thankfully though, this kind of behaviour (which doubtless had been tolerated by previous - lesser - managers at City) was not going to be allowed on GJ's watch. Hence, Phillips and the rest of the 'bad attitude crew' were dispatched to clubs like Bristol Rovers and Yeovil, so that Gary could concentrate on working with quality players that would take the club up, rather than drag them down.

So now you know.

and he went on to be part of a side with the best team spirit and work ethic we've had here since 1990

funny that

He wasn't the most confident today though :(

David Pipe's a little terrier though, looked like he wanted to inflict GBH on their left back time and time again.

It is, yes. Ironic even.

Well done on your cup run by the way (I suspect you'll think I'm being insincere or sly, but I'm not!)

Oh dear! Not sure his lawyer will thank you for that comment - can an internet messageboard influence an assault case?
