Well I'm from about as properly London a location as you can get (E5) and I consider anywhere on the tube and in the Greater London area to be London.

I was supposed to be, but 3 weeks before B-Day I decided my mother's womb could hold me no longer while they were visiting my (now)godparents in Shrewsbury. It's a fascinating story which I relate to anyone foolish enough to ask where I'm from.

My brother was born at the Mayday too.

I was born round the corner at the old Queen's hospital on Queen's Road. I think it lost its maternity unit to the Mayday in the couple of years between us.

FWIW, mum's from Bethnal Green, but dad grew up in Crosby, Lancashire.

Apparently I was conceived in London, my dad was on shipping leave as he had docked in the Royal Docks, so him and me Ma had a w/end in London and spent it in Dick Turpin house above the Royal Oak in Canning Town.

As I live in Canning Town it's like home away from home.
