It's funny though cos when you go to somewhere like Chingford, that's an "E" postcode, but is generally considered to be totally Essex, yet Croydon, well it still feels pretty London...

Well, as soon as I was OK to be taken out of the incubator, I went home. I've barely been there since. I'm proper Brixton crew now, matey moo. :)

I was supposed to be, but 3 weeks before B-Day I decided my mother's womb could hold me no longer while they were visiting my (now)godparents in Shrewsbury. It's a fascinating story which I relate to anyone foolish enough to ask where I'm from.

Haven't been back since though :D

I came out a month before England won the world cup so I could say I was alive as I knew it would be a once in a lifetime achievement :D

Mayday?

My brother was born there, I loved the name of that place :D

My brother was born at the Mayday too. :)

I was born round the corner at the old Queen's hospital on Queen's Road. I think it lost its maternity unit to the Mayday in the couple of years between us.

FWIW, mum's from Bethnal Green, but dad grew up in Crosby, Lancashire.

yeah the Middlesex just off Oxford St, the one they've just knocked down :( My mum reckons she could hear Bow Bells but that's stretching credulity a little I think.

Apparently I was conceived in London, my dad was on shipping leave as he had docked in the Royal Docks, so him and me Ma had a w/end in London and spent it in Dick Turpin house above the Royal Oak in Canning Town.

As I live in Canning Town it's like home away from home.
