wenger: taylor should never play football again

You know I think I'd be perfectly happy if anyone who fouls with that result never played football again... I think the pitch would be a safer place.

i don't think he done it it deliberately, fair enough a poor challenge but you see those every week in football, so should we prosecute every footballer that makes a bad challenge?

no, but we shouldnt be afraid from punishing those that do within the laws of the game.

but your opinions on most things are garbage :)

But the result is crucial though. It's what you do.

Suppose you were speeding while driving. Should it make a difference to your sanction if you a) kill someone b) hurt nobody?

by the same token, if somebody is within the speed limit, drives with due care and attention etc and kills somebody do they get prosecuted?

You seem awful keen to prosecute, have you seen the challenge yet? I haven't so I'm avoiding sweeping generalisations.

No they don't get prosecuted. That's why I said 'foul' in my statement. And here the tackle (which I have seen) seems unanimously regarded as reckless and deserving of the red card.

As has been pointed out to you, it's a crap analogy.

It was a rubbish tackle, but nothing more malicious than happens in any other given game of football. It was just shitty luck that he broke his leg.

in driving if you are speeding and you kill someone you will probably go to prison, but if you don't hurt anybody you'll just get a fine and maybe a few points. i don't understand what point you are trying to make jazzz. footballs a sport and should we just change the rules to no tackling whatsoever then everyone will be happy, and the game will be boring.

I don't see how you are confused - you've just put my point exactly. The outcome is crucial. That's why a tackle which actually shatters a leg in two should rightly be treated differently to a tackle which might look similar but does no damage. Just as a speeding motorist who actually kills someone is (and should be) treated differently to a motorist who simply speeds. After all, there are speeding motorists 'day in, day out'. Is it clear now?

Also it has no basis in the laws of the game.

Wenger's being a reactionary cock.

... would it just be 'shitty luck' if our reckless motorist killed someone?

no it would be a stupid idiot driver going to prison. but football is a sport and if you want to ban tackling altogether to stop this thing happening go a head. i do not believe taylor went into that challenge to hurt and definetly not break his leg on purpose, he went to get the ball for his team and what happened was unfortunate. if you want to send footballers to prison for bad tackles go ahead and the game will slowly decline.

a silly statemant made in the heat of the moment by a manager who had just seen his team lose crucial points.

So you think it's impossible to tackle someone at all without being quite sure you are not committing a red card offence?

I don't agree. I also don't agree that saving players from serious injury is going to put the game in decline.

Wenger is a cunt, it was a bad rash challenge but as far as I can see not malicious, that it resulted in an horrific injury to a player was bad luck, dozens of tackles go on in every game like that but result in no injury. Maybe Wenger should review the footage of the game at Old trafford and reconsider Flamini's playing career, no? He should also note the tackle by Eduardo on Evra that was worse than Taylors, wasn't malicious but could have easily caused a nasty injury.

yeah but you don't think two planes hit the twin towers so you can frankly shut the fuck up, you moronic cunt.

No way did Taylor mean to do that .. I feel incredibly sorry for Eduardo but I also feel for Taylor because you could see he was gutted himself. It wasn't a red card even and maybe not even yellow imo

The point - which I have made carefully - is that if you act recklessly you may rightly be held responsible for the damage which then occurs.

and the point you were making about it being 'crap' to have a broken leg?
