Wee Gordon Strachan.

Scotland well worth the victory. Peach of a finish from Maloney. Nice set up from Broonie, but wtf was he doing in that amount of space in the Irish box?. Criminal defending.

Also, nice to see a few crunching tackles being allowed in International football.

joint second and we have theoretically played our 2 hardest away games already

You's haven't been to Dublin yet, so don't be counting those chickens just yet.

Also wtf key did they play 'Flower of Scotland' in before the game? One suitable for Castrato's?

Amhrán na bhFiann was sung much louder by a much smaller Irish contingent. Some stirring singing of FoS (in a key suitable for all) after the goal though.

dubs will be tough I admit, but just getting big two away games out of the way early on helps. Looks like POland will be the group winners - still leaves us both with germany at home - now that could be interesting !

Andy Robertson looks to the manor born. Amateur with the spiders a couple of seasons ago now at 20 looks to have the left back slot as his own.
With the likes of Gauld and May the Arabs have become a bit of a talent factory.

so where are we ? top 2 go through automatically once the Gib points have been deducted - its gonna be tough to make the top two without a great deal of fortune...sadly I went to both Netherlands Play offs vs Holland under vogts and it isnt soemthing I want to do again ( the night in Amsterdam afterwards was decent tho')

Yes, Im sorta not bothered about this like I used to be in the old days- last game in Glasgow was the Euro 2000 play offs IIRC.England should win, but I wouldnt say confortably and Im sure WGS will have the team up for it...

fuck, I was there for that and then went across to Amsterdam. boom.reality.

WGS is probabaly loving this run - IIRC, he was knocked back for the job after McLeish when he demanded more control/ less SFA meddling in the setup.Looks Like Burley ( who I still have a soft spot for despite ) and Levien (who should be blootered to death with a bag of keek) changed the minds of the SFA since .

I dont mind is we doint get through. Well, I wouldnt be happy, but I am getting a buzz from the games that I havent had for years.Im no longer getting that dread on match days that have permeated the past decade pretty much.

Well Martin is not up to this level yet. Not by a mile. May and Russell jump ahead of him in the queue. Team looked shattered, even decent players like Mulgrew and Brown looked like clunkers. Robertson is the bright new hope though at fault for two goals. Badly miss S Fletcher to do the linking up front especially as Miller has likely passed it now. Hanley and Whitacker were to weaknesses in defence.

Dire performance but a good week strangely enough.
