k, yeah that'll make sense...the family on the bride side are very well-to-do as it is, so it'll prolly be a no-no...that's why it's so tempting.

What about black? How does tradition stand on that?

I have worn black to most of my family Catholic weddings and its been fine.

This was the sort of thing I was thinking of more red, but still quite a bit of white:

(I may well wear my batty one or my red collectif one to a wedding later this year )

Didnt see this the other day as the pic didnt show at work...I really like that dress.
