What happened to Dubversion ?
i'm looking for website that provides web storage for when i go to Thailand to upload my images to it needs to be browser based (something like flickr except for bigger files) because i'll be uploading from internet cafes to can't use any software that i have to download at the moment i'm trying out the free version of streamload but at he speed it's going it looks like it would take over 8 hours to upload 1gig, i'm looking for something faster than this say something in the region of at least 10meg a minute if i have to pay ok no problem
thanks jeff

10Meg in a Thai internet cafe? Blimey they've come along since I was last there. Depending on what you want you could set yourself up a gmail account and mail the picture to yourself??? Maybe I'm just being cheap.

so i'm being a little unrealistic then? i'm looking at my options before i go

1) take a laptop ( problem here is i'm already taking my camera and lenses so don't know if i'll be able to take two pieces of hand luggage on board plus don't fancy carrying laptop around thailand)

2) get internet cafe to wite my images to disc ( losing or damaging discs)

so what you think 1 or 2 ? should i start a poll :)

i use snapmania.com --> you have to pay, but it's really easy to upload. just zip all your files, and it extracts them in one go. plus can edit images online and whatnot.

I'd go for 2 and get them to make a 2nd copy.

I thought that standard trick was to get two copies, send one home to a mate, and then when they've got all the pics off and on to a hard drive you can bin your second copy.

i better that , get a portable hardrive, there can hold as much as 250gb and is cheaper than a 60gb ipod
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/
there is not a direct link but goto photographic - Accessories - Digital -memory cards and card readers - portable storage , and on your right scroll down for there choices. I have bought something from this store before, very fast delivery and reasonbly priced.

Depends where you stay? In a hotel you'll be okay anywhere else I wouldn't take too much with you.

*Note: VP2260 doesn’t support Windows SP1, SP2,
please upgrade to SP3 or above.

what does that mean?

and note this..standard stuff,,,but for a technophobe pretty important.

Important advice
We strongly recommend that you regularly re-format your memory cards in your Digital Camera
after you have transferred all your files to the XS Drive in order to avoid having corrupted photos

That you'll have to wait till 2007 to be able to use it?

or perhaps the implication is that the VP means VaPourware2260? :D
