We went to Morrison's

Kwik Save was bought up by Somerfield I think.

Aldi has gone a bit upmarket with their silver packet ranges, I think they still trade on their rep for cheapness but the prices have gone up a fair bit.

If there's anything I hate about supermarkets it's trying to rip me off with high cost range, get them finest veg and empty them into a plastic bag, same with the organics.

Remember Kwik Save? They used to sell really odd things like that as well.

I used to work for them, years ago in their store in the Lewisham shopping centre, I did'nt like it there at all, worse job I've ever had in fact:D (it's closed now, there's a Poundstretcher where it used to be)

We've talked of going to Morrison's lately, but our nearest is Letchworth, 23 miles away. I enjoy Waitrose in town, but we do spend a lot on those nice extra luxuries. Especially some of the pates.

Hot tip: get some of those top-range little dog foods in foil containers that you peel open, I challenge anyone to taste the difference.

But they are only 50p.

(clearly this tip is for you middle class types who have dinner parties).

The local Morrison's is okay to top up in-between shops, but generally we drive a mile to the local Tesco for major things. The Morrison's fruit and veg just isn't all that, and the available selection of a lot of things is wanting.

On the other hand, I think their bakery is hands-down the best of the major supermarkets (not saying much, I know), and they stock that lovely Longley Farm yogurt.

I know but I'd rather not go elsewhere.

There's a Morrisons store and a Tesco both within walking distance of my house, but I'd rather drive 5 miles and pay more money just for the pleasurable experiance of shopping at Booths.

The car park and store is always empty because it's so expensive, the quality of the food is far better than I have seen anywhere else. And just to top it off, the staff remind me of the staff from the BBC comedy 'Are You Being Served', rather than the bunch of fuckwits and shiteboys they employ at the Morrisons and Tesco's near me.:D

Never heard of Booths until just now and it looks quite good.

I am well pissed off with any fruit and veg I buy at Sainsburys going off the minute I leave the shop. Also I think it is wrong of Sainsbury's to sell UK and foreign fruit and veg so close together as to the undiscerning eye they all look the same, but to the died hard local shopper it's a national disgrace. :(

If you have to put a quid in the fucking shopping trolly it just signals bad news.

I'm not sure on reasoning behind this? Is it because they think people without cars might fuck off with a trolley and not bring it back part from the incentive of a scratchcard on the deal or maybe it's the crap metal value?

No it just stops lazy cunts from leaving trolleys next to their cars because they think some minnion is going to collect it and stack them up for them. No minnion stacking trolleys = less wages = savings to the customers. not rocket science is it. plus the place always looks tidy as people take their trolleys back to where they are meant to be. who knows if people werent so lazy maybe no supermarkets would have to charge and everyone would do the right thing. but people are often generally shit.
