We can paint anything we want, but we cannot photograph anything we want.

What jumps to my mind is that limitations help creativity. If I'm given an entire artshop to work with I won't know where to start, but if I have, say, just one pen then I'll find it easier to start drawing something or other.

Photography is more limited, and that means I find it easier to know what to do with a camera.
