well hellloooooo.
Well to clarify any misunderstanding here, YES IT IS A PISSTAKE!
The lyrics were originally written as a poem on the back of the bus in 2002, a few weeks after some pr**k mugged me on one!
It's a look at mass apathy and sheep-ism I guess, but certainly wasn't written to be taken too seriously.
I'm the first to admit that the lyrics have dated a bit, but I think the message still remains.
In fact it was the death of Ian Tomlinson that inspired my mate jess to say "look, you just got to get that tune out there"
I got to admit I find this whole posh thing quite hilarious. If you spent 25 seconds with me you'd see why.... working class from day 1!
Not like the middle-class Beasty Boys, but of course they've got American accents... which means that it's real hip-hop right?!?
Quite surprising, but the whole 'posh' thing actually seems to be a popular assumption (not just here). I guess mum just taught me to speak clearly!
Still, I find no reason not to be myself. It's my least favourite thing about most hip-hop... people playing up to some idea of what a hip-hop artist should be rather than being real.
However, I have no intention of being a hip-hop artist. I'm just having a larf'!
PS. re: morris and the majors... I really liked that joke record! still got that 7 lying around somewhere :0 ha ha, guess it was more of an influence than I realised.
Anyway thanks everyone for all your feedback, good and bad. It's enlightening! oh and Sus, backatcha.... you too are a wanker!
