Wanna see the chemical brothers for free?

Was a very good evening though the crushing at the bar was getting out of hand  but once we had moved over to where the food stalls were there was plenty of space to throw shapes

Managed to blag some tickets for four of us about 3 hours before it started :)

Good gig but the bar was ridiculous.

Less like a mosh pit at a Metallica concert.

I don't mind queuing up for a beer, but last night was silly. People falling over and getting crushed, pints being spilt left right and centre.

Treebeak queued for the whole of Calvin Harris set, just got back in time for Chems. (about an hour or more?)

Do you really think thats a reasonable amount of time to queue for a drink???

I can't remember saying that I thought it would be reasonable.

Pretty sure I just asked what people expected it to be like.

I am not one bit surprised that the bar was busy.

Ah, ok then.

I didn't expect to have to queue for the majority of the night for a fecking beer :)

They should have either a) Had more bars or b) Stopped selling pints or something and speeded up the process ;)

Clearly.

And if I ever go to an event like this where they get it properly sorted I'll be very surprised.

It was the same at the Scissor Sisters gig if that helps at all.

You just buy 2 drinks for everyone :D

We bought a whole carton of bottles in the end (about 16 or 20 I think). Having to go to the bar again was out of the question.

I don't mind the queuing but we were getting crushed at one point, the bar on the Charing Cross side of the site was poorly positioned.

The other bar, while busy, didn't appear to have the same crushing problem.

Had a great time still.

I've been to lots of similar events where the bars worked fine. It's not some unattainable ideal to not have to wait an hour for a beer.

I really enjoyed that:)
The visuals were excellent, we gave up on the bar it just looked like too much effort, afterwards we went looking for a pub ended up going over the bridge where we heard techno coming from the river - there was a beach party thing going on but by the time we found an offie to get some supplies in the tide was coming in and the party had stopped:D
all in all a very good night, glad I went.

You didnt! :p

Better option c) Have more bar staff actually serving! There was ONE girl serving the whole of one side of the bar. Tonnes of other people just milling about in the background and they werent even opening the beer bottles!!

Some of the visuals were amazing. I loved all the religious building layouts and wireframes, that then switched into actual footage.

Yeah you woulda thought that with the event being sponsored by Becks that they'd have had enough bars and staff to work on them. There should have been another 2 bars - there was enough room for them at the top corners.

However if you waited until 10pm - like i did - the queue had gone and you could just walk up and get served easily.
