I got more excited by a mouth-puckeringly strong bag (20p size) of Pickled Onion Transform-a-Snacks recently if I'm honest. Ridiculously pungent, as if they'd had an accident in the factory and spilled seven times the amount of violent flavouring into the mix by mistake. Like Ultra Monster Munch with added shebang.

It's great when that happens

I had a bag of pickled onion Monster Munch once, where several whole crisps/shapes/monster faces were made entirely out of the powdery flavouring

*nostalgia*

Ooo god I wouldn't eat the fish and chips one, scampi fries were bad enough. Your fingers are going to stink after em, some may like this.

I'm in turns both intrigued and repulsed by the thought of the builder's breakfast.

I thought they were ok and I don't like egg. It was a very strange sensation tasting beans, egg and bacon in one mouthful. No lingering aftertaste for me either.

I got a 6 pack of BB, OB & C&C in Lidl at the beginning of the week.
We've just tried the C&C, more chili than chocolate ioo. The cat preferred the BB ones :)

Do you remember Highlanders crisps, Gem? They did odd flavours: chocolate, Irn Bru, hedgehog.

Chocolate and chilli is a great combo, but doesn't belong on a crisp.

Highlander Crisps are still about BTW - See them in several stores.

Some of the flavours were ok, others not.

Stopped eating them a while back. There erwe production changes after Diageo took them over and I didnt like the new texture or the increased fattyness after that.

Highlander never made Hedgehog flavour - those were gone long before this firm came on the scene. It is true that the crisps failed because nobody was prepared to kill a hedgehog in order to prove the flavour to the EU.

Maybe they should have fried-up some roadkill instead?

Oh, why are people discussing reformed maize product nacsks on a thread about crisps, even though it is about Walkers shite!

The Builders Breakfast is lovely - it tastes of fried egg sandwiches (mmm hot buttered toast) with a touch of sausagey goodness - I didn't think ít was too eggy at all.

The fish & chips was a bit disappointing - just like weak salt & vinegar really.

None of the others were that special, apart from the squirrel one which was vile.

How on earth can you find a similarity between a potato and processed maize sludge?

They both crunch??

I'm glad you clarified it wasn't Highlander did the hedgehog crisps. I didn't think it was but you know what my memory is like.

VMboy got very serious about this and we had to do a 'compare and contrast' tasting session.
MINGRAT . My tastebuds will never be the same again. Egg flavoured crisps, I ask you?

I love the fish & chips ones but I just love walkers crisps - I hate kettle crisps and all of em but walkers ftw :)

THAT'S what they were like!! Scampi fries! Ty! Weeeeeeeeeird as hell!

Builders breakfast was my fav. YUmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!
Onion Bahji was next fav. Cajun SQuirrel was nice.
The chilli n choc. one and fish n chips one were really bizarre. Still not sure if I actually like them or not. :hmm:
The duck one was rank. Ugh.

managed to get Builders Breakfast yesterday!!:D

It beats the others cos you can taste bacon, sausage, ketchup, egg and indeed hot buttered toast all at once. Its like a real-life Everlasting Gobstopper!!

<does starjump>

:)

Ah. Any more than any other company does in this day and age?
Oh, that's ok then. :p
I don't know - I reserve a particular loathing for PepsiCo, even though I crack ever few years and have a packet of Wotsits and pretend they're still Golden Wonder. :o

PepsiCo are a very gay friendly company and donate to gay causes. They also stick two fingers up to the religious right in the states over it too.

They have a boycott on.
