Terrible game. Lampard and the Coles were useless. Lampard should be dropped for Wednesday on that performance with Beckham going to the centre (linked up quite well with Gerrard). If not then play 4-3-3 and move him to the left and drop Cole. It will be a travesty if Wright Phillips is dropped. Very happy with Rooney.

Wales played better than Old Trafford (not hard) but never seemd to have the ball.

Agreed HH. I think Beckham had his best game for ages, I'd have him and Gerrard in the middle, SWP on the right, who was superb, possibly Cole on the left, although maybe Richardson could get a chance against NI. And we do need two strikers. Looked incapable of scoring too many today.

Didn't watch it because Murdoch stole it but why the fuck wasn't Michael Carrick on the bench? He was great on the summer tour and has had a damn good start to the season too, yet always he has to make way for that media-whore Beckham. Carrick can play long and short with both feet and can get stuck in too, and yet still Sven ignores him. Who needs Alam and Loos when Sven and David have each other?

You can tell you didn't watch it.

I thought Beckham did quite well in that position, certainly better than Carrick would have done if he'd played.

Overall, it seemed like the sort of game where both teams were happy with 1-0. England have the points, Wales didn't get a beating, everybody's reasonably content and I think the teams were fairly happy with that.

Thought we played pretty well. Controlled the game - could have scored four goals.

Robinson's save was top drawer.

Wales didn't have much - Giggs pace and crossing and Hartson's heading.

4-5-1/4-3-3 works well against teams who put 10 players behind the ball.

Job done 1-0.

Wasn't at the match but thought the Welsh fans were very quiet....apart from booing the national anthem.

All I heard was the England fans!

Bring on Northern Ireland.

Thought Rooney was totally wasted playing out on the right, what is Sven doing?
England looked ordinary really, but I think they're palying the wrong system.....sort it out befors next year boys.

Re england fans, I was impressed with their support, the whole 3 tiers were belting out songs, the Welsh were reacting to their songs rather than concentrating on their own 'game'...a common sitution in internationals.
