Wales v Brazil!!!!!!!!!

Wales did really well on the whole. If Bellers and Earnie were slightly less profligate in front of goal, Ricketts was able to hit a barn door and Giggsy had stayed on it for the 90 it could even have ended up honours even! ;)

The second-half started in controversial style as Brazil centre-back Alex seemed to elbow Duffy in the face, but English referee Mike Riley did not brandish even a yellow card

 ;) :D

I would haf to admit that England wouldn't have taken them on right now. That would be footballing suicide in this stage of the Euro's. Remember that England would have been expected to give them a proper game and would have ended with a draw and 2-3 of our players injured.

All credit to the taff's for attempting the impossible. 2-0 is a fairly respectible defeat against the undisputed world number ones.

How can they be world number ones when they were distinctly average on the world stage?

Personally I don't think any international team is that amazing right now.

We were giving them a match until Giggs went off.

im impressed it was only a 2-0 beating, after the czechs beat us 2-1 last week i was expecting a thrashing, and considering they made it a whole hour with out the "mighty brazillians" scoring i think is well impressive.

I reckon Duffy, had he got 90 mins would have been a contender.

Especially after that disgrace of an elbow by Benaldo Thatcherinho.

Best player on the Welsh side - absoultely cool under pressure

He is an excellent player for the Hammers (HOTY last season) and an absolute steal for how much we paid for him from Cardiff.

Someone on here gave me grief for saying he is one Welsh player who would easily make the England team, I still maintain that he would, along with Giggs and Bellamy.

A better result than I had feared, our boys didn't play badly and its good experience for them, and its always nice to play Brazil :)

I went to the game in the end. I enjoyed it, there was a good friendly atmosphere in the ground, lots of Brazilians with drums and so on and quite a lot of noise coming from the Wales fans just to our left (although they appear to only have one chant:p .)

We were right behind the goal but really got the wrong end. Brazil were attacking our end in the first half when Wales were doing OK. In the second half Giggs went off and Brazil had the ball down the other end (and scored the goals of course) and given that our seats were slightly below pitch level it was hard to see much apart from on the big screen. Well worth going still.

first half boys you did well.....

need strikers though and Bellemy to use his left

No shame in losing to Brasil

No, our strikers are fine even if they can't actually hit a barn door at the mo'. What we are really lacking is a couple of decent central midfielders. Robinson and Fletcher are as mediocre as f*ck. We have lots of good youngsters coming through but they are either defenders or wide players. Savage's energy would be useful in certain situations but he doesn't have much of a constructive game. Giggs HAS to play in the middle but we need a strong holding player to work alongside him and there ain't one on the horizon. (Crofts - too raw and a bit Savage-esque).

but that by definition makes them no good as strikers?

If you like watching an idiot run around a lot in certasin situations without doing any thing of any use that is... ;)

Strikers have off days - Bellers and Earnie will come good.

Depends how good you're aiming at though IMO.

Earnshaw is a good Championship level striker but he's never going to be an absolute top level player. Whether you think that's good enough depends on what you're aiming at.

Earnie could be a good Premiership player IMO if you play to his strengths. That of course means never giving him the ball outside the box. Best finisher in Britain inside the box. :)

He's a good finisher granted, although you're pushing it with best in Britain, but I don't think I've ever seen a player for whom that is so much ALL they do. And I have to say last night I was surprised by how easily he was outpaced by the Brazil defenders. He looked pretty slow a lot of the time. I'd still say Championship, maybe lower Premiership level.

I wasn't surprised - those Brazilian defenders are very fast and very athletic. It was exactly the same for Bellamy. And our midfielders weren't exactly pulling their team out of shape apart from the odd bit of brilliance from Giggs.

How many goals do you think Earnshaw would get if he was playing for Manchester United? Fecking loads that's how many.

But I'd agree he's not top drawer because you need to have a more rounded game which he hasn't got.

I thought Bellamy was definitely a notch above Earnshaw though. He is quicker, but also got in their faces more and occasionally looked like creating something for himself. You could see why he's the player at a top club.

Although for some reason I can't help mentioning what a twat he is.:p

Bell End is a great team player but a secondary striker. Got more natural aggression than Earnie - would kill him in a fight. But then he is from Tremorfa.
