Yer not celts,

The celts all came from Central Europe and was the word given by the greeks to anyone who lived in Europe north of greece. We were known as britons or whatever.

There is no celt in any true Welsh, There's more celt in someone from Kent then there is in Welsh, Irish or Scottish. I cant exactly remember what exactly the welsh and irish were called but I know that the scottish were known as Picts.

The word celt was adopted pretty much because of cultural similarities and that was influenced by trade from foriegn lands. The book of Kels being written in a monestry on the north coast of england and inspired by symbols from Egyptian christianity and then adopted by The Irish Tourist board

Mind you that all came form a channel 4 progam abotu celts so its probably about as correct as me saying I have 4 nipples :D

i think i speak for many in the southwest when i say that i believe scotland to be a far superior place to wales, full of fine and upstanding people, proud of their history and heritage, and yet also forward-facing, and striding confidently into the future.

three cheers for the scots!

I dont know where to start with your badly thought out, badly informed post based mainly on a badly made tv programme.

I'll forgive you if you get your arse over to the welsh forum and start posting now! :D

belushi, was it you who i saw talking to ddraig in the 'wales' forum?

something about "the scottish are right meanies", wasn't it? "they smell like turnips, all of them," or something like that?

i have to say, i strongly disagree with your characterisation of the noble scottish people. and i'm not a little disappointed in you :(

The Picts were actually Brythonic Celts, like the Welsh, Cornish and Bretons. Once we've defeated the Somerset hordes I'll debate the issue with you further.

I heartily agree, we love the Jocks. Even the Wurzels are 25% Scottish.

What's more, we are now dealing with a Bath separatist movement from within our own borders.

The Welsh Forum are happy to stretch out the hand of friendship to the good posters of Bath and offer an alliance against the monstrous tyranny of Bristol!

Let's all make friends and invade London.

I'm a Bristolian-Celtic-Separatist and open to a broad alliance.

The latest thinking is that the Picts spoke a Brythonic language, rather than a pre-Celtic or Gaelic one; though with so few words of Pictish surviving its a difficult area.

Excuse me but could you take your tribal disputes elsewhere?? We've worked bloody hard to have no sectarian or divisive nonsense in this forum and we're not bloody having it now.

Though if I HAD to choose it'd probably be SW coz of krs's sterling efforts in helping us get our own forum(and no-one in Wales feeds me as well as he does)

How can he feed you if he's in Bristol...? I smell a rat. Has there been foul play in the desperate Bristol victory in the 10k post race?

Coz I've been down to visit once or twice.

Haven't been to Wales for a holiday or happy visit ever. Once was a geography field trip and the other time was to get trained in how to draw up and sell kitchens, neither of which were joyous occasions as I'm sure you can imagine.

I will say Wales does look lovely from the aeroplane heading to Bristol :)
