Okay, thanks. It looks like I am going to have to take a day off work, and get the buggers out here, and insist that my employers don't pay them anything.

If you're using a MS VPN (the one built in to Windows) and are using Symantec Firewall, disable it for 5 mins then see if it works..

I already thought of that, thanks. I used to have to disable the firewall in order to connect on my other computer.

But forget it, everyone. This computer is so crap anyway, that I am sending it back to the office and getting myself another one for personal use.

Instructions on how to allow Symantec firewall to allow GRE would take hours.. I never bothered doing it on my old work PC. If they dont supply me with decent kit, it's their problem if it gets a virus.
