Virgin Media's evil Star Trek throttling..

that's nothing, in Stargate continuum Daniel Jackson says 'shit'
There was nuff vulgarity in that!

It was mucho dull, so I was reading while it was on, but every so often someone let fly with a cuss word and I would look up - just shocked

And Maquis Thomas Riker was indeed a traitor in DS9- he ended up in a Cardassian gulag for his troubles.

There's a huge grandfather paradox undermining the whole film. I think the writers thought they would be clever but ended up annoying me.

yes. Shame, it was a good idea poorly executed
I thought it was a rubbish idea too.

They should have done a black ops series with a cloak-enabled Defiant-class ship doing cool spy shit. With some kind of First Officer exploring what it means to be human, that's always good for a laugh.

The Ben Browder thing didnt work at all. It was poor all round.

How come parallel world Teal'c also had a jerry curl? Huh?Huh??

Starfleet were always to pussy for that, with their enlightened self interest bullshit. Like a rubbish version of Culture philosophy

Indeed.

Notice how parralel world teal'c (in his varios guises) is always harsher voiced than friendly tealc? whats that about

One of the other ideas they had was to have a ship that could go to Andromeda (the glaxy) via wormholes, it would have been a shit-hot idea.
They ewven wrote a book for it as well, I read it and got bored. But it sounded a hell of alot better than Enterprise, Russel watson FFS

There needed to be a season with a captain who was a complete cunt.

Some Machiavellian two faced, murderin', double dealing, low down Romulan lovin' cunter who was always looking to get ahead or to get his face on the intergalactic news.

His first officer should have been an oily Bester/ Lyta mind infiltrating type who was in the psycorps on their own world and probably involved in a putsch of some sort, but was too well connected to be put to death.

They would use their mind bending abilities to get Harry Kim and Neelix to fuck, then kill themselves, from way in the gamma quadrant.

Enterprise tried some type of mirror world episode, but it was more camp than dark

AFAIK, the last series WAS supposed to be based on the activities of section thirty-one. Sadly, I don't think that would have stretched beyond one 'season.' Ideally, I'd like to see a collection of individual series looking at different aspects of the trek universe (e.g. a series on section thirty-one, a series set on earth, a series from the Klingons' point of view etc...) Wouldn't happen, of course - there's little profit in developing sets, characters who are only going to be around for a year or two; far easier to cash in on the noughties' proclivity for prequels.

They should do a series set in the far far future 400 years after the current timeline, make it totally cosmic with tractor beams that move planets and when they reconfigure the shield emitter they can push ion storms around etc.

Many years ago me and a friend (lamenting the crap state of Star Trek and watching B5) came up with an treatment for a series we called Star Trek: Last Generation. It was about a massive civil war within the federation, it's fall and the rise of other races with Humans nearly becoming extinct and having to take refuge on Vulcan...

That would be fucking awesome:cool:

Oh man, I spotted this thread far too late.

Although I will say this: for the last three weeks I have been watching SG1 dubbed on Italian TV. It's amazing how easy it is to follow what's going on and those deep-voiced aliens sound even better. They sound like the devil in some crazy Catholic horror film.
