Victoria Line non-stopping at Victoria

Do you think that will reduce the numbers of people using the buses to get to Brixton tube in the morning (or do they already use an alternative form of transport)?

I know that about the tube lines but was just checking. So why does the Victoria Line need new tube trains?
The old ones were getting on a bit. There's only so long you can run the same trains for, before they start costing too much to repair. The new trains will also be more reliable, and will be faster -so there'll be more trains per hour.

The EEL extension isn't about taking strain of existing tubes, but about providing the tube to areas that don't currently have it. Doubt this will affect Brixton that much.

Well it's only 10 minutes to Victoria anyway so I doubt it'll take much off my journey :D

Wasn't thinking about the tubes as much as the buses. I'd imagine quite a few people clog up the buses that come from Crystal Palace to get to Brixton. Still, it'll be nice of them to finally get a bit of decent transport and at least it'll divert them East London way instead of South ;) :D

I'm really not wetting my knickers in excitement over a few new trains
Neither am I. And they're probably not going to make the ARROOGAH! noise that the old Vic line trains make when they're parked up at Brixton.
Hopefully the automatic announcer voice won't be too annoying. I can't stand the Jubilee line, mostly because the announcer woman won't stop babbling on. It's annoying.

Was this he same tunnel that was converted to take trains as when it was just open to anyone lots of people decided to live there?

I believe it was originally a foot tunnel & carriages (I've an old print showing pedestrians/carriages at Wapping) and later converted for trains.

do you have any idea how they'll get the new Viccy trains in? Presumably there's some sort of door from the tube to the outside world, but trains are quite big so how does the postie deliver them?

The viccy line depot is located above-ground, so there's no special process needed. Waterloo & City line trains have to be winched in and out of big doors in the floor, though.

Now that St P's is running the Eurostar show, what's happening with the WC line?

Victoria - the one they're shutting for ages-wages

yes, but that's not for ages. This little closure is just for the Victoria Line bit where they're removing asbestos above the escalators

Not sure of the schedule of works for the expansion that's taking place.

Your print may have been a PR "serving suggestion" like this one:

They never raised the funds to build ramps for horses or carriages - so until the railway took it over it was just a foot tunnel, with spiral staircases at each end. They're still traceable at Wapping (though long gone to make room for lifts and new stairs).

I'd love to hear more about people living in it...

It is for the little ones:p

Anyway, here's hoping that it looks nicer, even if it's not going to make rush hour less crowded.
