I had the (mis)fortune to spend a couple of days last month on a biomechanics course which blew my mind a bit and discussed the barefoot running / forefront strike techniques in some detail. The general consesus was the barefoot phenomenon is a pile of poo, something that comes around every 25years or so before sinking from sight as people develop injuries.
